This commercial item description (CID) covers a rugged, environmentally protected, commercial type, vehicle platform scale set with a single scale capacity of 20,000 pounds and a nominal inaccuracy of +/- 1 percent of applied load. These scales are used as a set to weigh wheeled military vehicles and cargo in remote areas, on unimproved and improved surfaces as well as satisfactorily operating in all environmental conditions. Their purpose is to maximize flight safety and aircraft utilization at main operating bases, forward operating bases, landing zones, and under bare base operations. |
